At SHOT Show 2024, GunsAmerica explored Hornady’s latest ammunition with Seth: the ELD-VT (Extreme Low Drag-Varmint Target) bullet!

Seth explained the ELD-VT’s innovative design. Its long ogive and boat tail, coupled with a rearward center of gravity, ensure stability and fragmentation.

The design withstands high muzzle velocities due to its thick jacket. Thus, it combines match-grade accuracy with significant impact.

Seth also revealed a cutaway of the bullet. It showed a large hollow space beneath the polymer tip, crucial for explosive impact.

The lineup includes various calibers. For example, the 62-grain 223 version offers a high ballistic coefficient.

Hornady’s ELD-VT series is now available in stores. Models like the 62-grain 223 are already on shelves. The technology extends across 6 mm, 6.5 mm, and 30 caliber bullets, all featuring high ballistic coefficients.

In summary, Hornady’s ELD-VT bullets mark a new era in ammo technology, combining speed, accuracy, and power. For more details, visit hornady.com.

Features:

  • Heat Shield®Technology: The ELD-VT bullets feature a Heat Shield® tip. This resists aerodynamic heating, retaining shape and ensuring minimal drag.
  • Advanced Manufacturing Process (AMP®) Bullet Jackets: Hornady’s AMP® bullet jackets display unparalleled consistency. Each jacket’s concentricity and thickness enhance every ELD-VT bullet’s performance.
  • Rapid Fragmentation: The ELD-VT bullets promise more than precision; they ensure impactful delivery. The polymer tip drives into the core upon impact, causing dramatic fragmentation.
  • Precision Performance: Resulting from extensive ballistic research, the ELD-VT combines aerodynamic and lightweight design. This dual-purpose performance eliminates the need for compromise.
  • Unique Weight to Length Design: The bullet’s long, sleek profile and optimized core-to-length ratio improve muzzle velocity and aerodynamics.
