Speaking to Tim from Stealth Arms, he gave me the lowdown on the company’s latest offerings for the Platypus this year.
These all focused on new options for the popular Platypus that they debuted at SHOT Show last year. New for the this pistol is additional customizable options, chamberings, and even custom serial numbers.

My favorite feature was the announcement of a new ultra-aggressive grip texture, tailor-made for the needs of competitive and recreational shooters, especially those enduring the Texas heat.
The grip is set to hit the market in a few weeks, promising an extra edge for users. Feeling it for myself, I can confirm it is ultra-aggressive, which will be awesome for those needing a rock-solid-grip in competitions.
Stealth Arms is also rolling out bull barrels, and introducing 45 ACP for the Glock 21 called the Platypus 21. Not stopping there, they’ve decided to include 357 SIG and 40 caliber options, “just because they can.” However, they mentioned that a few customers also asked for it.
They are also going to offer custom serial numbers option. For an additional charge of around $100, customers can add a personal touch to their firearms.
I fully anticipate the engraving people over at Stealth Arms are going to have a hoot due to this….
Current turnaround time for Stealth Arms’ popular Platypus model is around 12 to 14 weeks. Every pistol sold by Stealth Arms is fully customizable using their custom pistol builder tool.
With prices starting at $1,400 and a wide array of options, Stealth Arms continues to carve a niche in the custom firearms market.
