Snap-On Thermal? ATN’s TICO LTV Is Ready To Shoot — SHOT Show 2024

The trouble with a thermal scope is deciding which of your favorite rifles to remove the optics from so you can mount the thermal instead. You want to use your best shooter, but you don’t want to ruin your daylight shooting with it by altering your optics mounting.

ATN, maker of thermal and night vision optics, has solved this problem. ATN’s TICO LTV series of thermal scopes can attach in front of your daylight optic and you can go shoot it without even zeroing it first.

Two Mounting Options, No Unmounting Required

The scope can either mount to your Picatinny rail with its included base, or you can use the included Bayonet mount to attach it to the front of your daylight scope. Surprisingly, this setup keeps you shooting well even without re-zeroing.

It works because ATN has created a collimating eyepiece/ocular. That means that the image you see looking in the thermal has been carefully aligned. You can only see the image when it is perfectly aligned. That means your reticle will be on target…in the dark.

ATN says they are very comfortable making the collimating eyepiece — a rare feature on a thermal this price — because they’ve been doing it with their night vision optics for ages.

The TICO LTV comes in three different resolutions, 256, 320, and 640 with 640 being the best. Those units have 25mm, 25mm, and 50mm lenses respectively. It boasts a 12-micron, sub-30 millikelvin sensor. Another excellent feature is its rechargeable 18560 battery that powers the unit continuously for 8 to 10 hours.

ATN’s TICO LTV thermal scope will be available in April 2024. MSRP starts at $1,100 and goes up to $3,295
