The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR) will hold two confiscated equipment auctions later this year. Both auctions will take place online at www.hillerauction.com. Mark your calendars for August 26 and October 7.
About a month before each auction date, you can find a list of items up for grabs on the Hiller Auction website. The list will include DNR Enforcement seizure receipt numbers if applicable. Keep in mind, the list might change as we get closer to the auction dates.
The bidding catalogs will be available online on August 22 and October 3. These catalogs will feature descriptions and photos of each item.
Online bidding opens on August 23 and October 4. You can also inspect items in person on these days from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Hiller Auction Service (HAS), located at 10785 261st Avenue, Zimmerman, MN.

- Shotguns, Rifles, Handguns, Bows, Tree stands and Misc. items
- A complete catalog will be posted by Thursday August 22nd.
- The state is paying 100% of our commission, There is no buyers fee for this auction
- Minnesota sales tax does apply at 7.375%
- Inspection will be Friday August 23rd from 9am to 2pm.
- All items must be picked up at the Auction Barn in Zimmerman. NO SHIPPING! Load out times are Tuesday August 27th 9-6 and Wednesday August 28th 9-3
- All firearm buyers must pass a NICS background check before receiving any firearm. The registered bidder must be the person passing the background check.
The first auction starts closing at 5 p.m. on August 26. Items will close one by one, with one item ending each minute. If someone bids in the final three minutes, the bidding extends for that item until there are no more bids for three minutes. This won’t affect the ending times of other items. The second auction follows the same format, starting to close at 5 p.m. on October 7.
Winning bidders will get an invoice after the auction ends. You’ll need to pick up your items at Hiller Auction Service in Zimmerman, MN.
If you buy a firearm, remember you must pass a federal firearms background check in person when paying for and picking up the firearm(s) at the auction location.
