At SHOT Show 2024, Leapers showcased their latest advancement in AR parts. Kio, from Leapers, presented a fully ambidextrous upper and lower receiver set, packed with impressive features.
The UTG Pro True Ambi lower, paired with its matching upper, mirrors controls on both sides, minus the forward assist and ejection. It includes a bolt catch that can be operated using the trigger finger, enhancing ease of use.
This set sports ergonomic advancements like a shortened Magwell for complete magazine compatibility, an oversized trigger guard for gloved use, and multiple indexing points for various hand sizes. The lightning cuts on the receivers reduce weight without compromising integrity.

Leapers designed these receivers for ambidextrous safety compatibility and added a 90-degree deflector for left-handed shooters. The paddle-style bolt release is identical on both sides, ensuring familiarity for users.
The upper receiver features an extra Picatinny slot for eye relief-sensitive optics, accommodating those using prismatic scopes. This design choice also helps when adding a magnifier.
Installation is user-friendly, with a captured buffer detent pin and a separate rear takedown pin spring and detent, preventing lost parts during assembly.
Leapers has made these receivers available for purchase, with the set priced at around $457. They can also be bought separately. Made in Michigan and embodying UTG Pro quality, these receivers are a testament to American manufacturing.
