Heralded for their durable tent offerings, Kelty jumps into the tactical world with its G2G 4-6 Person Tactical Squad Tent. A four-season model, the G2G was designed around the concepts of durability and comfort in ultra-extreme weather conditions. Capable of withstanding up to four pounds of snow, the 15,000 mm Polyurethane coating is both durable and waterproof.
Sporting a pole configuration designed around ease-of-setup, the poles are noted by Kelty to be both lightweight and super durable. Buckles on the fly cover the lower poles and provide a firm fly-to-tent attachment. The three-door design ensures multiple entry points, and the sizable 68.5-square-foot floor plan offers ample room for sleeping and gear storage.
Fitting up to six soldiers and their gear, Kelty was still able to maintain a low-profile to better minimize the overall footprint of the shelter. Fly vents prevent cold-weather condensation, and the 70D nylon ripstop along with the 15,000 Polyurethane coating and poles marry perfectly to provide the tent with a foolproof build.
The durable fly keeps the weather out and allows the tent the ability to virtually disappear. The fly is offered in MC, OCP, Alpine and CB + FR CPAI-84 and IR treated models to blend with various environments. Tipping the scale at just 14 pounds, 3 ounces, it doesn’t take a full squad to carry a single shelter. Aside from its tactical value, this tent should be considered by backcountry hunters as well.
