It’s A 9mm! DD Delivers Its First Handgun: Daniel H9 — SHOT Show 2024

Estimated reading time: 3 minutes

GunsAmerica is on the ground at Shot Show 2024, and today, we’re with Matt from Daniel Defense, exploring their latest creation – a new handgun.

Yes, you heard it right, Daniel Defense has stepped into the handgun arena, marking a significant development for the renowned firearms manufacturer.

This handgun has been a long work in progress, paying homage to the original Hudson H9 design. While the earlier iteration faced challenges with customer support and some issues such as broken parts that never got replaced, Daniel Defense seized the opportunity to take over and redesign the entire firearm.

The result is a sleek, aluminum-framed handgun that may look familiar but stands as a completely separate and refined gun. The Daniel H9 is a more reliable firearm that is sure to have excellent customer service and support.

A Daniel H9 may look familiar, but is redesigned to be the reliable firearm that was released today.

The Daniel Defense handgun sports features like a low bore axis, a short trigger reset, and a redesigned Picatinny rail to accommodate modern light systems.

Priced at $1,299.00, the H9 comes with G10 grip panels, three flush-fitting 15-round magazines, and a unique offer – purchasers can exchange the sight plate for their preferred optic plate.

The handgun’s distinctive trigger, with a remarkably short and smooth pull, sets it apart. In the video, True demonstrates the quick trigger reset that is ideal for both precision shooting and rapid-fire scenarios.

Designed to check boxes for a carry gun and excel in three-gun competitions, this handgun’s 4.28-inch barrel strikes a balance between compact size and shootability. With fully ambi controls, including a reversible mag release, it offers flexibility for wrong-handers.

The handgun’s high undercut, unique front strap texture, and overall slim design contribute to a comfortable and ergonomic shooting experience. Also, the slide lock is low profile and ambi for ease of use.
