A Closer Look at the SORIX

The SORIX shotgun is available in 12 and 20 gauge versions, catering to different preferences. The 12 gauge model comes in 3-inch and 3.5-inch options, while the 20 gauge model offers a 3-inch version, ensuring versatility across different shooting disciplines. A 28-inch barrel equipped with a vent rib and checkering to reduce glare. A fiber optic sight for clear visibility. This shotgun is designed for precision and ease of use.

One of the standout features of the SORIX is its use of cryogenic technology in its chokes. Offering five options, (full, improved modified, improved cylinder, cylinder, and modified) it suits various shooting needs. Weighing in at 7.1 pounds, the SORIX is easy to handle and boasts a full cerakote finish for durability. Adding a personal touch, each stock is hand-painted in Weatherby’s Sheridan, Wyoming facility, with three patterns to choose from: Midnight Marsh, Slough, and Storm.

Designed with the Shooter in Mind

Beyond its striking aesthetics and built-in versatility, the SORIX shines in its ergonomic design. The shotgun features two sling attachment points, a soft rubber cheek piece for comfort, and adjustable shims to customize the stock fit. The receiver is drilled and tapped for those wishing to add optics, and it sports an aggressive competition cut for easier, faster reloading. The cut should make for less thumbs getting stuck. For added convenience, especially in cold or adverse conditions, Weatherby has included oversized controls like the bolt release button and charging handle.

A new addition to the SORIX is the SHIFT SYSTEM™. This system allows for ambidextrous use by enabling the charging handle and safety to switch sides, catering to both right and left-handed shooters. The SORIX operates on an inertia system, which is celebrated for its simplicity and reliability, reducing the chances of malfunction and grime due to fewer moving parts.
