Affordable Vortex Venom 3-15×44 Riflescope! — SHOT Show 2024

Vortex has recently launched a new optic in its Venom line, and it’s worth taking a look at, especially if you’re budget-conscious. This new scope sits just a notch below their Strike Eagle line in terms of placement.

This model is the Vortex Venom 3-15x44mm rifle scope, featuring a first focal plane with the EBR-7C MRAD reticle. And there’s an MOA version for those who prefer that. It’s designed to adjust in tenths of a mil and has a side focus parallax that reaches down to 10 yards.

Vortex seems to have cut costs by omitting features like illumination, which isn’t always a necessity. The scope comes with a 34 mm tube and the RevStop™ Zero System, similar to what you’d find in higher-end Vortex models.

The package includes the scope itself, rubber bikini scope cap covers, and a turret for the windage with a protective cover to prevent accidental adjustments.

True Pearce, GunsAmerica’s managing editor, demonstrated (see video above) the clicks on the scope, noting that while they aren’t at the level of a $3,000 Vortex, they’re decent for this price range. The scope also features a magnification ring that ranges from 3 to 15 power.

The scope, suitable for various rifles, offers 124 minutes of elevation or 36 MRAD and weighs about 29 oz. Despite its affordability, it seems to be versatile enough for both casual and long-range shooting.

A point to note: the scope is manufactured in China. The MSRP stands at $649.99, with a minimum advertised price of $449.99. For a first focal plane scope with these features, this could be considered a reasonable deal.
