Shot Show 2024 got a bit more exciting with Kimber’s unveiling of the R7 Mako Tactical. We had the opportunity to chat with Everett at the Kimber booth, who gave us a detailed look at what this new model offers.

The R7 Mako Tactical is the latest addition to Kimber’s R7 Mako family and it’s packed with features aimed at enhancing the everyday carry (EDC) experience.

One of the standout features of this pistol is its versatility. It comes with a Pic rail, a threaded barrel, and an option for an optics-installed model, which includes the Holosun HS 407K.

The R7 Mako Tactical doesn’t shy away from capacity either. It offers a generous 15+1 round capacity.

For those looking to customize their firearms, the Pic rail fits popular brands like Surefire and Streamlight, making it easy to add accessories.

MSRP for the R7 Mako Tactical is $951.

An important aspect of this model, as mentioned, is its threaded barrel. Users can attach muzzle brakes or suppressors. The design of the pistol reduces blowback and keeps the optic window cleaner.

The R7 Mako Tactical also sports TruGlo Tritium Pro Night Sights, adding to its low-light capabilities.

As for the build, the R7 Mako Tactical maintains a lightweight profile with a polymer frame and a stainless-steel barrel. The molded stippling ensures a firm grip in various conditions, and the pistol’s size is conducive to comfortable carry, measuring only 1 inch wide.

For those eager to get their hands on this new model, the good news is it’s already hitting the market.

With an MSRP of $951, it’s expected to be slightly lower in street price. For more detailed specs and information, Kimber invites interested parties to visit their website.
