At the 2024 SHOT Show, True got an exclusive look at Caldwell’s latest innovation – the Claymore Pull-Pup, a handheld clay target thrower. Priced at an attractive $69.99, this compact device is set to hit the markets in April and promises to bring a new level of convenience and fun to clay shooters.
The Caldwell Claymore Pull-Pup stands out with its ability to launch standard, midi, and mini clay targets over 55 yards, matching the performance of larger, traditional clay throwers.
What makes it unique, though, is its handheld design. This feature allows shooters to easily change the target’s angle, offering a variety of challenging presentations to test their skills. The device also incorporates dual grip safeties, ensuring that both hands are safely positioned away from the target and arm when released.

The device comes with a clip on the arm that securely holds the target in place, allowing for off-camber launches and on-edge target presentations. Its open-front design enables quick clearing of any broken targets without the need to disassemble the thrower in the field.
One of the key features highlighted during the demonstration was the power adjustment capability. This allows users to vary the throw’s intensity, making the Claymore Pull-Pup versatile for different shooting scenarios.
To reset the device, one simply pulls the yellow arm back until it clicks, readying it for the next launch. True also emphasized the importance of not dry firing the Pull-Pup to ensure its longevity.
The Claymore Pull-Pup’s compact size means it’s easily transportable, fitting in the trunk of a car and eliminating the need for bulky machines or manual throwing.
Caldwell’s new product is not just about functionality; it’s about adding an element of fun to the shooting range. For more information or to get a closer look at the Caldwell Claymore Pull-Pup, interested buyers can visit Caldwell’s website.
