Beretta’s 92 GTS DA/SA: Decocks for Lighter DA! — SHOT Show 2024

Beretta’s latest innovation for the 92 line is the 92 GTS and it has a significantly different trigger system.

You’re looking at the Launch Edition, which will be a limited run with the aluminum finish and wood grips; the permanent version will have a black finish with black grips.

“GTS” refers to the Type G decocker and the “twin sear” trigger. This unique system involves a twin sear design that safely decocks the hammer to a half-cocked position. The double action trigger is much lighter from the half-cocked position than from the full-decocked position. We’ve seen a function like this from Lionheart Industries’ Double Action Plus on the Regulus pistol.

After the first shot, the action is in single-action mode. The XTreme S trigger has DLC-finished components. The Diamon-like coating is ultra smooth and corrosion resistant.

The Launch Edition features a black slide with an aluminum frame and wood grips.

Other features include safety levers on both sides of the gun for out-of-the-box ambidextrous function, and the magazine release button can also be swapped to the other side.

A full-size pic rail is under the barrel for lights and accessories. The front sight is fiber optic while the rear sights are blacked out and serrated for glare reduction. It comes ready for optics and is compatible with MRDS mounts.

The 92 GTS maintains the classic open slide design of the 92.

The 92 GTS and Twin Sear Design: Nick explains that the 92 GTS incorporates a revolutionary technology known as the “Type G Twins.”

Unlike anything done before on a full-size gun, this technology offers enhanced safety and functionality. The double sear design allows users to push up on the thumb safety to decock the firearm to half-cock, providing versatility in firing options.

Beretta 92 owners will recognize this simple field-stripped view.

Beretta’s 92 GTS is available now starting at $899 and $999 for the Launch Edition.
