Remington Releases the 360 Buckhammer for Straight-Walled States -- SHOT Show 2023
Reliable expansion from the Core-Lokt bullets

Remington may not build a lever action rifle but they released the 360 Buckhammer, which is a perfect lever gun cartridge.

The Buckhammer is going to be exactly that, a hammer for deer hunting, especially in the states that Remington is targeting. The Buckhammer is a straight-walled case and it is going to be a big hit in states that allow only straight-walled cases for deer hunting.

There has been a rise in the number of states that used to allow only shotguns for deer hunting that now allow straight-walled cases. The guidelines and restrictions vary greatly by state but the 360 is designed to fit within all the current rules.

The Buckhammers parent case is the 30-30 which is an excellent deer cartridge but had a bottle-neck design not allowed in those states. The Buckhammer delivers similar performance but from a straight-walled case with a larger diameter and weighted bullets.

The Buckhammer utilizes a .358 bullet diameter and is initially offered in 180 or 200-grain weights. The 180 is leaving the muzzle at almost 2,400 feet per second, and the 200 is running 2,200 fps.

360 Buckhammer rifles to come.

At those bullet weights and speeds the Buckhammer will be a solid performer within 200 yards which is what it is designed for. Both bullets are Remington’s well-known Core-Lokt soft points for reliable expansion. It fills the middle ground between the less powerful 350 Legend and the heavier recoiling 444 or 45/70 cartridges.

Henry rifles released a single shot in the 360 Buckhammer already, and has several lever action models in the works. For more information on the 360 Buckhammer check them out HERE.
